NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ NAPERVILLE, Ill. - A structure fire broke out in the 2400 block of Kingsley Drive on Sunday night, prompting a swift response from the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC). The call was received at 11:29 p.m., and a general alarm assignment was immediately dispatched to the scene.

The assignment consisted of three engines, two ladder trucks, two medic units, one heavy rescue, and two battalion commanders. Upon arrival, fire suppression companies conducted a thorough survey of the structure and provided an on-scene report. They also confirmed that all occupants were safely out of the building.

According to officials, heavy fire was discovered in the rear of the structure. Handlines and master streams were deployed to extinguish the flames while crews worked to assess the extent of damage to neighboring structures. The fire was successfully contained and extinguished at the residence.

Crews continued to work diligently by overhauling the fire area and ensuring that all smoldering embers were extinguished. To aid in this process, an unmanned aerial system was utilized to identify any remaining hotspots.

Assisting on the scene were various departments including the Naperville Police Department, Bolingbrook Fire Department, Nicor, and other city departments. The estimated damage is $850,000, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. However, due to extensive damage, the residence has been deemed uninhabitable. The Naperville Fire Department urges residents to always be cautious when it comes to fire safety measures in their homes.
