NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ NAPERVILLE, Ill. - A residential structure on the 1300 block of Winchester Court in Naperville was engulfed in flames on Monday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC).
According to the ECC, they received a call about the fire at 1:23 p.m. and immediately dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of three engines, two ladder trucks, one heavy rescue squad, two medic units, and two battalion commanders.
The first fire suppression companies arrived on the scene at 1:26 p.m. and reported seeing smoke coming from the open front door of the home. Upon arrival, they completed a thorough survey of the structure and provided an on-scene report before establishing command and beginning fire operations.
Fortunately, two individuals who were home at the time of the incident were able to safely exit before the fire department arrived.
Fire companies wasted no time in initiating offensive fire operations, deploying handlines and conducting an interior primary search. They also worked quickly to overhaul the building to prevent further damage and ensure that no neighboring structures were affected by the blaze.
