CHICAGO, Sept. 11, 2025 ~ Northeastern Illinois University's College of Business and Technology has recently received prestigious accreditation for its bachelor's degree program in Computer Science. The Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a highly respected nonprofit organization, has recognized the program for its excellence in education and commitment to producing graduates who are well-equipped to enter the rapidly evolving field of technology.

This voluntary process evaluates academic programs in technical disciplines based on criteria developed by technical professionals from ABET's member societies. The accreditation review looks at various aspects such as program curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support. It is conducted by a team of experts from industry, academia, and government who have extensive knowledge and experience in ABET disciplines.
As of October 1st, 2024, ABET has accredited 4,773 programs at 930 colleges and universities across 41 countries and areas. This global recognition further highlights NEIU's commitment to providing top-notch education to its students.
