CHICAGO - illiNews -- The earliest tale of a "Great Flood" emerged in the historical Asian region of Mesopotamia more than 5,000 years ago.

The story evolved over time and across cultures, eventually achieving fame in the West with the retelling found in the book of Genesis in the Bible's Old Testament.

Now, independent researcher S.H. Scholar is revealing new research on the origins of the enigmatic Biblical flood story in his book, "Heavenly Flood: The Fascinating Astrological Origins of Noah's Ark and the Great Flood." In the book, Scholar exposes the influence of Mesopotamian astrology on the development of the timeless Great Flood story.

According to Scholar, the Great Flood tale was first transcribed on clay tablets 2,500 years before the Biblical version of the story was authored. Heavenly Flood shares fascinating new information about the evolution of a story that changed the world, detailing new discoveries in the fields of Near Eastern archeology, ancient religion, astronomy, and astrolatry to shed light on this timeless tale.

Using never-before-published research, Scholar correlates the emergence of Mesopotamian flood tales with Mesopotamian astrologers' development of constellations and their precessional movements. For example, imagery from the various versions of the Great Flood story, such as the ark, raven, dove, and rainbow, were also references to ancient constellations in Mesopotamian astrology. Their precessional movements across the night sky played out in the narrative found in the Biblical flood tale.

The easy-to-read book, written to be enjoyed by readers of all ages and backgrounds, includes early versions of the Great Flood story and shares how archeological discoveries reveal the history of great deluge stories as the story was adopted by new cultures, including the Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians. The story gradually changed over the following millennia to reflect astronomical observations.

"I'm so excited and honored to now share one of history's greatest secrets with readers everywhere," Scholar said. "My research has taken a direction no one could have expected and I'm thrilled to unveil exciting new discoveries that expose one of the greatest historical mysteries of all time. Join me as I uncover the ancient secrets that led to the development of the world's most famous story."
