Hobie Murnane Raises more than $4k for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
CHICAGO - illiNews -- Northwestern Mutual – Chicago presented its inaugural Childhood Cancer Impact Lemon Award to Hobie Murnane, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, CAP®, a Wealth Management Advisor in the Deerfield, Illinois office. The award recognizes leadership in philanthropic work to support the financial planning firm's childhood cancer program. The firm will donate $1,000 to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) in appreciation of his service.
"Hobie is committed to giving all children the chance to live life to the fullest by accelerating the search for a cure and better treatments," said Nikki Perryman, Director of Strategic Operations and co-chair of the Childhood Cancer Impact initiative. "He exemplifies a servant leader, and his passion for giving back reaffirms we are in the business of making a difference in people's lives."
With COVID-19 hitting nonprofits hard, Murnane was compelled to find a way to support ALSF. He devised a fundraising plan embracing best practices for virtual and social-distanced in-person events with the Charles Krug and hosted a successful wine tasting. The event raised more than $4,000, which will fund 60 hours of research.
