The Unveiling Ceremony of the Statues Will be Held Today, Monday, August 26th, 2019 at 9AM; at 1285 Avenue of the Americas, NYC
MANHATTAN, N.Y. & WASHINGTON - illiNews -- This Women's Equality Day, Gillie & Marc, the world's most beloved public artists, whose award-winning work is on permanent display in over 40 cities, including New York, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, and Beijing; today announced the unveiling of the Statues for Equality Project. The artists' monumental bronze sculptures aim to spread the message of equality and conservation worldwide. In New York City, less than 3% of statues are female, with Sydney and London following suit with 4% and 3% respectively.
The ten (10) larger than life statues of inspirational women will be unveiled at 1285 Avenue of the Americas. These powerful women who were voted for by the public include: Oprah Winfrey, P!nk, Nicole Kidman, Jane Goodall, Cate Blanchett, Tererai Trent, Janet Mock, Tracy Dyson, Cheryl Strayed and Gabby Douglas.
