Speaker Emerita Pelosi Kicks Off Women's History Month in Chicago

WESTCHESTER, Ill., March 7, 2023 ~ Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi joined Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch and the Democrats for the Illinois House in Chicago to kick off Women's History Month with their first annual Women's History Month event, Women in Power. Welch praised Pelosi for her trailblazing efforts, saying "you have always been that voice. You have shattered the glass ceilings. You have been an inspiration for us all." He also emphasized that the group was not claiming superiority, but rather that diversity must be present at the table.
