CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has announced the appointment of Ray Giderof as the new Executive Director of the Public Building Commission (PBC). Giderof, who has been serving as the Acting Executive Director, brings over three decades of experience in complex project delivery and 25 years of dedicated service to the PBC.
In his new role, Giderof will continue to lead the PBC's efforts in building communities through collaboration, providing inclusive opportunities, and driving economic development throughout Chicagoland. Mayor Johnson expressed confidence in Giderof's abilities, stating that his track record of successfully overseeing billions in capital investments and commitment to building stronger communities make him the ideal candidate for the position.
Giderof's extensive experience with the PBC makes him well-equipped to take on this new role. He has advanced through numerous operational and leadership positions during his 25 years with the organization. In collaboration with the PBC Board of Commissioners, Giderof has overseen a team responsible for integrated public works developments such as modern schools, public safety institutions, libraries, parks, recreation spaces, and infrastructure.

Giderof holds dual accredited degrees in Bachelor of Architecture in Design and Building Technology and Bachelor of Architecture in Structures from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Architecture. He is also an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
