CHICAGO - illiNews -- Two Chicago men were arrested by Chicago Police Department officers on December 29th, 2025, around 5pm after stealing a White BMW from a Family Dollar parking lot, crashing the car into a tree on the 11400 block of Elizabeth Street, and then fleeing the scene on foot. Ms. RK, a journalist with @Ms_RK_News heard about the pursuit through a police scanner and was on-the-scene within minutes to report about the incident. According to the CPD officer who was giving chase on-foot, both suspects were wearing all black clothing, and one was described as having dreads with fur on his coat, and the other was described as having a fade. Both suspects were arrested and placed into custody, but one man complained of injuries from the car crash, so the Chicago Fire Department paramedics were dispatched to the scene. The other car thief did not sustain injuries, and was immediately transported to Cook County jail for processing. According to one of the victims, a man in his twenties who Ms. RK met on the scene of the crash, said the car theft originally happened at the Family Dollar at 1633 W.
