An Aurora man is facing two felony charges after Naperville Police arrested him for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and an illegal handgun.
On Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 Naperville Police performed a routine registration check on an occupied vehicle at a business in the 1900 block of Brookdale Road and discovered that it had been reported stolen by the owner a short time ago. One subject was taken into custody, and a second subject fled on foot. Police conducted a thorough search of the area but were unable to locate the second subject, who is described as a black male in his early 20's with an athletic build, wearing light-colored jeans and a black t-shirt. A search of the stolen vehicle resulted in the recovery of an illegal handgun.

Abdulhafedh H. Abdulhafedh, 20, of the 1000 block of Pheasant Run Lane, Aurora, IL is charged with one felony count of possession of stolen motor vehicle and one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Abdulhafedh was transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond hearing.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
