~ At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the 2500 block of Leach Drive for a reported gunshot victim. Upon arrival, police and fire personnel found an individual with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
According to preliminary investigations, this was not a random incident. The suspects are believed to have fled on foot in an unknown direction. As a precautionary measure, several schools in the area were put on lockdown and residents were advised to shelter in place through the Naper Notify Alert system.
