~ At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the 2500 block of Leach Drive for a reported gunshot victim. Upon arrival, police and fire personnel found an individual with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
According to preliminary investigations, this was not a random incident. The suspects are believed to have fled on foot in an unknown direction. As a precautionary measure, several schools in the area were put on lockdown and residents were advised to shelter in place through the Naper Notify Alert system.

The Naperville Police Department has launched an active investigation into the matter and is urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting the Investigations Division at 630-420-6665. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
