On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Naperville Police Department will be teaming up with several other police agencies in Northern Illinois to conduct a traffic safety initiative along the busy Route 59 corridor. This joint effort aims to increase the safety of motorists using this major thoroughfare.
Participating agencies from Lake County to Will County will be utilizing a combination of education and traffic enforcement strategies to promote safe driving practices. The Naperville Police Department's focus will be on addressing speed violations, distracted driving, and occupant restraint violations, as well as other safety infractions.

Joining forces with the Naperville Police Department are police departments from Hoffman Estates, Aurora, Plainfield, Barrington, Streamwood, and Bartlett. The Cook County Sheriff's Office and Lake County Sheriff's Office will also be participating in this initiative. Each jurisdiction will tailor their enforcement actions according to the specific needs of their communities.
