NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, Naperville's Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a 911 call for the report of smoke in the attached garage of a single-family residence located in the 700 block of Hayle Court. Naperville 911 (PSAP) dispatched a General Alarm assignment to the reported address, which brought 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 fire personnel to the scene.
The first unit arrived on the scene at 3:17 p.m. and reported smoke showing from the attached garage of the structure. Fire attack was initiated by the first-arriving engine, medic and truck companies; a water source was secured.

The fire was found to be burning in the garage, which was quickly extinguished and confined to the area of origin. Upon the arrival of additional fire companies, salvage and overhaul operations were performed. No civilian injuries were reported; three pet cats were rescued from the residence.
An inspector from Naperville's Transportation, Engineering, and Development (TED) was notified and responded to the incident. Nicor and Naperville Electric secured the utilities. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and the residence was deemed habitable.
The Warrenville Fire Protection District provided coverage for Naperville fire stations during this incident. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
