ROCKFORD, Ill. - illiNews -- August 15th is 815 or Rockford Day, and Poplar Grove based publisher Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing has released a new book on two Rockford cemeteries to honor that date. "Rockford's Final Resting Places: Volume Four: Marsh and Scandinavian Cemeteries" is that book. By Gary Hill, it is a photo-heavy book, with extensive galleries of each cemetery along with some information on each location along with a couple bios of notable burials.
The first book in the series was published on April 9th and was focused on Cedar Bluff and Greenwood Cemeteries. That book was similarly photo heavy. It was also done by Gary Hill, but included contributions from Ernie Fuhr. On that one the galleries are rounded out by some bios of some of the notable burials and an article by Ernie Fuhr titled "The Ghouls of Greenwood."
