HOUSTON - illiNews -- Up-and-coming racer Ryder Wells and Seaboard Controls entered a long-term partnership, marking the company's first venture into motorsports as Ryder relocates from Texas to stock car racing's home turf in North Carolina.
Seaboard Controls' founder, Philip Muro, shared that the order of importance his company was built on and will always remain is God, family, and work. He is confident that this is the reason for Seaboard's success and longevity, and his son and other critical people at Seaboard have pledged to honor and follow that same principle.
The founder proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and his training and discipline from the Corps helped him create and build his company.
"Seaboard welcomes the opportunity to support Ryder in achieving his goals," Muro said. "His desire to succeed reminds us that if you believe, you can achieve. I note the same determination in him as I recall having back in 1981 when Seaboard was started.
"We are happy to have Ryder represent us and look forward to seeing our brand racing around the track on the side of his car. I think this is an opportunity for Seaboard to assist someone in reaching their goal, and we welcome the opportunity to do so."

Ryder, who turned 17 on April 19, began racing go-karts at age nine after seeing a video on YouTube. Since then, he's won in micro sprints, pro trucks and will now represent Seaboard Controls in a late-model stock car for Mike Darne Racing. He recognizes his hard work is paying off and this move is a proud moment and a big step in his racing career.
"I am very appreciative and thankful for Mr. Muro and everyone at Seaboard Controls for having faith in me to represent them and go racing with me on the track," Ryder said. "This is a big step for both of us, and I intend to make them proud by parking their logo in victory lane."
Ryder's first race in a late-model will take place on May 11 at Tri-County Speedway, a 4/10-mile asphalt track in the NASCAR Home Track family. When not behind the wheel of a racecar, Ryder will work in Darne's race shop and help other drivers as a crew member at the track.
