ATLANTA, April 17, 2024 ~ Arcadia Cold, a leading cold storage 3PL provider, has announced their plans to construct two new facilities in the Chicago area by the end of 2024. This move comes as a response to the high demand for cold storage facilities in the region, driven by Chicago's strategic location as a major transportation hub and its prominent role in the food distribution industry.
As part of their strategy to expand into critical distribution markets with modern facilities, Arcadia has identified Chicago as the next logical region for their business growth. The company will be working with their national strategic development partner, Saxum Real Estate, to build a combined 600,000 square feet of space. This will provide support for over 80,000 pallet positions of frozen and refrigerated capacity.

The new facilities will not only cater to Arcadia's current client base but also meet the growing demand from regional and national food manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice providers who require a reliable and high-quality cold storage service partner.
This announcement comes on the heels of Arcadia's recent news about their seventh facility in Charleston, SC and the upcoming grand opening of their Jacksonville, FL facility later this year. CEO and President Chris Hughes expressed his satisfaction with the success of their initial five facilities opened in 2023 and is excited about expanding their service area with a customer-centric approach.
With construction set to begin by the end of 2024, Arcadia Cold is poised to further solidify its position as a top player in the cold storage industry. Their commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities in key distribution markets demonstrates their dedication to meeting the evolving needs of their clients.
