WHEATON, Ill. - illiNews -- Dr. Claire Leegard, has worked with patients across the lifespan from birth to 100 years old. Now she is excited to use her experience to provide high-quality in-home care through her newly acquired business – Home Helpers Home Care of Wheaton.

Dr. Leegard has a background in nursing as an RN with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). She has worked with patients from newborns to centenarians with special emphasis on senior care, community health, and mental health. Her recent work has been focused on management, training and education. In addition, she is a Clinical Professor teaching mental health and community health nursing as her way to remain involved in the education of future nurses and to be current in her specialty fields.
"I enjoyed working in nursing, but when I saw the toll the pandemic took on our seniors and their families, I realized I had an opportunity to help by focusing on in-home care. Home Helpers Home Care enables me to combine my passion for care with the need for a service that can provide high-quality care to the older adults in our community," Dr. Leegard said.
In addition to allowing her to continue her passion for providing quality care, Home Helpers also helps Dr. Leegard fulfill her own American Dream. When she immigrated to the United States from the Philippines 30 years ago, she didn't know the path life would take, but she knew she was ready to accomplish something rewarding.
