The Haiku Milieu After Dark Concert on August 30 at 8:30 pm at FitzGerald's features sexy songs, heartbreaking songs, songs of desire, love, loss and grief – the things we discuss only after the kids go to bed. Spotlighting the act of creation as a primal force that ignites our passion, restores our humanity and deepens our connections to one another, these concerts feature master songwriters, all of whom will be familiar to Chicago audiences.
"Finding the extraordinary in the everyday is my mission," says Bienemann. "I've found that collaborating with other artists results in startling new work, restores our sense of wonder, and fosters a diverse creative community." At the concert, she serves as emcee, reading the haiku that inspired the song aloud before each performer.
