NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - The City of Naperville and the Naperville Public Library are excited to announce the final event in their Embracing Community Book Read series, titled "An Inclusive Community Conversation." This event will take place on Thursday, November 7th at 7 p.m. in Meeting Rooms A/B at the 95th Street Library.
The discussion will center around Peter Block's book "Community: The Structure of Belonging," which explores the idea that in a true community, every person is a citizen and relationships are essential. Block also emphasizes the transformative power of focusing on what is possible. This conversation will delve into these themes and the takeaways from the discussion will shape future Embracing Community initiatives within the city.
All members of the community are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring friends and neighbors along. Registration for the Book Read can be done at bit.ly/Block-community-conversation for those who have not previously signed up.

This Book Read is just one part of a larger series called "Embracing Community: Expanding Our Dialogue, Deepening Our Understanding," which includes several inclusive community conversations hosted by the City in partnership with other organizations throughout 2024. These conversations aim to foster inclusion among generations, cultures, and those with different experiences through storytelling and intentional dialogue.
