NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - In the early hours of Saturday, February 8th, the Naperville Emergency Communication Center (ECC) received a call from a concerned passerby reporting a fire in the attached garage of a single-family home on Nanak Court. The call was received at 4:38 a.m. and prompted the dispatch of a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer.
Upon arrival at the scene, Naperville Police reported that the structure was fully engulfed in flames. The first fire unit arrived at 4:44 a.m. and confirmed that the fire had spread to the first and second floors of the home. Fire crews quickly took action, deploying multiple hose lines to contain the blaze. At 5:21 a.m., the incident commander upgraded the response to a box alarm, bringing six additional suppression vehicles and two chief officers to assist.

Thanks to their swift response and coordinated efforts, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by 6:28 a.m. However, they remained on scene for an additional 30 minutes to ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished.
The Naperville Fire Department received assistance from several neighboring departments including Aurora, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle-Woodridge, and Plainfield. Additional station coverage was provided by Bolingbrook, Darien-Woodridge, Plainfield, Wheaton, and Oswego Fire Departments.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but it has been confirmed that no one was inside the building at the time of the incident. The home was undergoing renovations and deemed uninhabitable by Naperville's Transportation, Engineering, and Development Team. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among civilians or firefighters.
Damages are estimated to exceed $700,000 as stated by authorities. The community is grateful for the quick and efficient response of the emergency services, preventing any further damage or injuries.
