Chicago-based financial advisor leads a team as a College Unit Director

CHICAGO - illiNews -- Nikolina Cuca, CFP^®, ChFC^®, a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual-Chicago, was appointed a College Unit Director. In this leadership role, she will recruit and lead a team of college students participating in the firm's industry-leading financial planning internship program.

"As an aspiring financial professional who is on a leadership tract, growing a financial planning business, she is an inspiration of what is possible for the next generation of financial advisors."

Cuca started her career in the internship program with the Northwestern Mutual Columbus, Ohio office while a student at The Ohio State University. Through the internship experience, she learned the art of client building partnering with experienced financial professionals. The flexible schedule allowed her to work full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year, successfully navigating her studies and the internship program. She lay the foundation for a client base and a successful practice through coaching, mentoring, and teaming opportunities. Upon graduation in 2018, she was invited to join the firm full-time. Shortly after that, she started her leadership journey and was named a College Unit Captain.

A Rockford native, she elected to return home to Illinois to be closer to family and friends. She transitioned to the Chicago office and was invited to the leadership team as a College Unit Director in 2021.

In addition to her leadership role, she will continue to grow her practice, building on the firm's vision to bring financial security to the community, one individual, one family, one business at a time.

Cuca holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialty in finance from The Ohio State University. Post-graduation, she obtained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP^®,) certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC^®,) designation from The American College of Financial Services.
