Package Deals Are Win-Win for GTM and Others

NORTHBROOK, Ill. - illiNews -- When Kelsey Scribner and her family decided to build a shooting range with a retail shop, they visited ranges around the country and decided to set the bar high. Now up and running strong, the Wyoming Gun Company in Casper operates 9 pistol ranges, 7 rifle ranges and 4,000 square feet of retail space. It also offers a full-service gunsmith and 2 classrooms for education. Kelsey also believes in making shopping a little easier for her clients, too, and creates packages for purchase that include GTM leather CCW purses combined with other items to complete an entire concealed carry set-up.

Kelsey said she started making weekly package deals in November 2018. "We started it because people often get in a hurry and don't have the time to put together everything they need. Sometimes they aren't even sure of what they want or need. So, we thought we would put together weekly deals that would take the guesswork out of it."

She said the reaction is good, and that some packages will sell in only a few hours. If she posts it on social media, a package typically sells in a day. If aimed at a woman buyer, the package might include a GTM purse, pepper spray, flashlight and firearm. "Sometimes, if I have an item that isn't selling, I will pair it with an item that is popular," said Kelsey. "People just need to see an item they might not usually go for in a different light. Sometimes it can help them look at the product better if it's packaged in a way they can easily understand."

Claudia Chisholm, president of GTM Original, said, "Showing what consumers need, when they may not know it, is good old-fashioned retailing at its best.
