~ Naperville Police Department Offers Youth Academy for Local Teens
The Naperville Police Department has announced that they are now accepting applications for their upcoming six-week Youth Academy. The academy, which will take place this summer, aims to give teens a better understanding of the police department and provide them with a positive interaction with law enforcement officers.
Starting on May 30, 2024, and continuing every Thursday night until July 11 (excluding July 4), the academy will be held at the Naperville Police Department from 6 to 8 p.m. This free program is open to all high school students currently enrolled or entering high school in the fall of 2024. However, space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The academy will consist of a series of classes, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations covering various topics such as police patrol operations, police canines, investigations, special response teams, forensics, and more. It aims to provide students with a working knowledge of the Naperville Police Department and an opportunity to interact with officers in a positive environment.
