DIY Fall Craft Home Decorations

OSWEGO, Ill. - illiNews -- Being from the Midwest I must say I love Fall more than any other season. Football games, leaves changing colors, bonfires, sweatshirt weather, and pumpkin spice everything! Although it may be too early for Halloween decorations (yes, my little wizards and witches it's too early). I do love a wonderful fall aesthetic for your home during September and early October. That can then be brought out again after Halloween thru Thanksgiving. Warm red, orange, and gold tones with the simplistic rustic charm of the harvest season. Why go out and drop a ton of money on store bought decorations? Especially when you can do it yourself easily and for so much less. Without further ado, here are some my favorite DIY Fall Home Decorations.

Autumn Leaf Mason Jar Candle Holders

These are a little messy but oh so fun to make. All you need are: leaves (fake is best), a mason jar, hot glue or mod podge, and some kind of twine (optional) to tie around the top. Just use your creative self and get gluing!

I have actually made these in the past and while they were uber cute and easy, don't make the mistake I did in using real leaves. While I don't have pictures to prove it, after a few days my leaves began to get crusty and fall apart leaving a gluey disaster inside my mason jar.
