~ On Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, Naperville Police Officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of S. Rt. 59 to a report of a theft in progress. After addressing the suspects and conducting a preliminary investigation, two people were taken into custody for taking a large amount of allergy medication without paying on both this date and in a similar incident at the same location on Aug. 25, 2023. It is estimated that just under $4,000 in product was taken in the two incidents.

The suspects were identified as Ionel Tomescu, 30, of the 7700 block of Grant Avenue, Elmwood Park and Miclescu Lovenza, 26, also from the 7700 block of Grant Avenue in Elmwood Park. Both are charged with two counts of Burglary (Class 2 felony), two counts of Retail Theft (Class 3 felony) and one count of Endangering the Health/Life of a Child (Class A misdemeanor).
The Naperville Police Department reminds the public that these charges are merely accusations and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
