Naperville Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash at Naper Boulevard and Plank Road

NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ NAPERVILLE, Ill. - A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night at the intersection of N. Naper Boulevard and Plank Road, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old man from Naperville. The incident was reported to the authorities at approximately 10:01 p.m., prompting a response from the Naperville Police Department and Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a black 2016 Harley Davidson Fat Bob lying on its side with significant damage on the east side of the road. The operator of the motorcycle was found to be unresponsive and was immediately given emergency medical attention by the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District. He was then transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to preliminary investigations, it appears that the driver of the Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on N. Naper Boulevard towards Plank Road when he lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road before colliding with a fence. As a result, traffic crash investigators from the Naperville Police Department's Traffic Unit were called to the scene to conduct further investigations.

In order to facilitate their work, N. Naper Boulevard was closed in both directions from Plank Road to Meadow Lake Drive until approximately 2:15 a.m. the following morning. The authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any additional information to come forward and contact the Naperville Police Department Traffic Unit at (630) 420-6117.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder for all motorists to exercise caution while on the road and adhere to traffic laws for their own safety as well as that of others. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
