Naperville: Police Investigate Shooting on City’s Northeast Side

~ On Sunday afternoon, Naperville Police Officers responded to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of Iroquois Avenue and Kennebec Lane. The incident occurred at approximately 2:46 p.m. on June 23, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim outside of a home on the 1000 block of Iroquois Avenue. The Naperville Fire Department was also called to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to initial investigations, it is believed that the offender fled the scene on foot. In response, officers established a perimeter and utilized a K9 unit and drone in an attempt to locate the suspect. A Naper Notify Alert was also issued to residents in the surrounding area, advising them to shelter in place.

However, as more information became available, it was discovered that the offender had actually fled in a vehicle. At this time, it is believed that this was not a random act of violence.
