"The Board of Park Commissioners has been focusing on the beautification of our parks and open spaces," said Roger Sweitzer, President of the Board of Park Commissioners. "This playground adds to the beautification and value of Terrace View Park."
The playground at Terrace View Park was originally constructed in the early 2000s. The playground was past its useful life and in need of an update with more modern and accessible amenities.
The new playground features a large play structure with umbrella coverage that incorporates climbing, sliding, and balancing components. The playground also includes a large bay of swings with a variety of swing styles, including traditional swings, a face-to-face swing, and an accessible bucket swing. Accessible features include a poured-in-place rubber surface, accessible ground components such as an OmniSpin spinner, and accessible curb cuts to a new sidewalk in the Terrace View Park parking lot.
