CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson appeared on CNN's 'The Assignment' with Audie Cornish yesterday to discuss the city's efforts in investing in its people and creating an economy that works for everyone, regardless of federal support.
During the interview, Mayor Johnson highlighted the lack of support for public accommodations and the growing wealth gap between those who have more and those with less. He emphasized the need to disrupt this economy and called for federal partners to understand the impact of their decisions on local economies.
Mayor Johnson also spoke about Chicago's leadership in promoting a value system that aligns with what Americans want to see in governance. He mentioned the city's investment of $830 million towards infrastructure, citing the inability to rely on federal government support.
