On Tuesday October 8, 2019 at approximately 1:10 p.m., the Naperville Police Department and the Naperville Fire Department responded to Wehrli Road and Hobson Road for a vehicle crash involving a 2019 Silver Subaru Forster driven by a 66-year-old female out of Naperville and a 2019 Green Subaru Outback driven by 21-year-old male out of Streamwood. The initial investigation indicates that the Subaru Forester was traveling northbound on Wehrli Road when it disobeyed the red light and was struck by the Subaru Outback that was traveling westbound on Hobson Road.

The 66-year-old female along with her two passengers and a passenger from the Subaru Outback were transported from the scene. The 66-year-old female's injuries are considered life threatening. Due to the nature of the incident, members of the Naperville Traffic Unit trained in accident investigation and reconstruction responded to the scene to investigate the accident. During the course of the initial investigation, the intersection of Wehrli Road and Hobson Road was closed and rerouted until approximately 4:27 p.m. At this time, no citations or charges have been filed due to the ongoing investigation.
